Dee excels at making people feel welcomed as is the one-woman dynamo behind the success of this popular neighborhood gem. For twenty years, Dee has given locals a passport to szechwan mandarin cusine where "the land of one thousand flavors," continue to entice them.

    Dee's newest addition, a sushi bar run by the celebrated Japanese sushi chef, Mr. Matsumoto, will delight sushi lovers with authentic japanese sushi prepared with traditional sushi designs and methods. For seriour sushi conniusseurs, Dee's Offer the rare opportunity to experience a traditional "tsukedashi" (Pronounced skeh-desh-she) meal, where the chef creates a variaty of special appetizers based on the number of people and their budget. These must be ordered one week in advance. As a 30 year vetran in the "art of sushi", Mr. Matsumoto is well known among sushi restaurants in america and abroad.

    "We do not cut courners," Dee explains. "We use special rice for our sushi and make our own vinegar mix from scratch. It's not store bought like many other restaurants. We do not use any prepared or packaged mixes. All of our ingredients used in the restaurant are fresh."

    As one of Chicago's most beautiful Szechwan Mandarin restaurants, Dee's seamlessly blends three unique entertaining enviorments for the discerning customer. Choose a cozy, coushioned booth for the romantically inclined or escape into an airy, sky lit room surrounded by billow trees. The golden hues from the fireplace transformes this splendid room into an ideal refuge from chicago winters. Or, stroll across a japanese wooden bridge and enter a candle lit garden (weather permitting) with pristine white tablecloths and enjoy fresco dining under the stars.

    Dee's offers customers a variety of dishes to accomidate the tastes, of their meat, poultry, vegetarian, fish, and sushi patrons.

    Customer favorites include Szechwan Chicken, Crab Rangoon (Dee's uses fresh crab only), Mogolian Beef, and Mooshu Pork. Traditional Szechwan dishes known for their multiplicity of flavors and processes are skillfully demonstrated in such classicks as hot and sour soup, tasty four seasons green beans, or crispy smoked duck.

    House specialities feature whole red snapper (Kung Pao or Hong Shiu Style) and the renowned Peking Duck which must be speicial ordered and marinated one day in advance to create the crispy brown textured skin and succulent red meat afficionados crave. Traditionally, the skin is a delicacy in itself and is served with mandarin pancakes and hoisin sauce, while the meat is sliced seperately.

    The sushibar features classic favorites such as, Maguro/Tuna, Hamachi/yellowtail, and Toro/Fatty Funa. The house soeciality is sashimi omakase which included an assortmant of seafood including tuna, yellowtail, salmon, flounder, octopus, mackeral, squid, and shrimp.
